The photo shows our garden and across to the village church in the depth of winter

Get away from the grey, winter is colourful at Chez-Elles.

Fancy Skiing?

The nearest ski station is at Chalmazel, 30 minutes drive from Chez-Elles.

Chalmazel has activities all year but mid-December to the end of March  it comes into it's own when the skiing and snow park are open.
Click on the button below to visit their website, you can hire your gear there so you don't have to bring your own if you don't want to.

There is a ski school for beginners and improvers and the really good news is that outside of the French school holidays it does not get crowded and is great value, so why not have a few days skiing when taking your winter break?

St. Antheme, 10 mins from us, has ski hire and button lifts for piste skiing and cross-country skiing too but is a much less organised affair than Chalmazel.

You don't have to ski to have a great winter holiday here.

The tracks around the village are great for a stroll or maybe a bit of sledging is more your thing…..

Sitting by the wood-burner with a glass of red in one hand and a good book in the other is a great way to keep the winter blues away.

There are wonderful Christmas markets and many regular markets open all year to explore.
