You can holiday at any time of year, each season is beautiful and very distinctive;
Spring and autumn are especially good for walking & cycling - spring has wonderful wild flowers and autumn has fabulous displays of foliage colour, both have warm sunshine but cool temperatures in the shade.
Winter has big snow - there is cross country skiing very locally and the ski station is only 30 minutes away for piste skiing, snowboarding etc. but don't be fooled by the sunshine & blue skies it does get very chilly here so the wood burners are always on the go to ensure a cosy, warm house to return to. Christmas and New Year are a real treat at Chez-Elles great food, drink and company - samples of the menus we had for 2005 are on the site and you can take a look in the guest book to see what the guests thought of their stay!
Summers are long and hot but because we are at altitude even when it is well over 30 degrees there is always clean, fresh air to breathe and of course there is always the plunge pool to cool off in; that is if you don't venture out to one of the lakes with beaches.
So, whether you want a chill out holiday or one full of activities, you can make your holiday just what you want at any time of the year.
The area is unspoilt and largely unknown to the British, if you want to get away from loads of tourists, try out your French and spend your time in a really friendly place Chez-Elles is for you.
We respect people and all are welcome at Chez-Elles but all guests must be comfortable with and respectful of diversity -- we ourselves are a female couple and Chez-Elles is a place where all can relax and be yourselves in comfort. To ensure the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere children can only be accommodated in family weeks by arrangement.
